Alaska’s second largest cruise port, Ketchikan, is celebrating a record-setting summer for the visitor industry. This September, Ketchikan welcomed its millionth cruise passenger of the 2017 season.
In May the town received six large ships, setting a one-day record with 13,000 cruisers in town. Ketchikan offers a wide variety of activities including fishing, wildlife viewing, kayaking, zip lining and more.
Alaska Native culture thrives in Ketchikan, home to the largest collection of totem poles in the world, and the town offers visitors an opportunity to learn about traditional art forms of the Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian people.
