In 2017, travelers from far and wide hopped aboard the Alaska Railroad and submitted photos for its annual Catch The Train Photo Contest.
Through online voting, a winner was selected from the 12 finalists, who hailed from Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Vermont, Virginia and, of course, Alaska. Finalists were chosen based on their photos’ artistic merit, originality, subject and style. Capturing the iconic history and beauty of the Alaska Railroad, the photos will be in the 2019 Railroad calendar.
David Blazejewski of Anchorage took home the grand prize of $1,500 and the Alaska Railroad’s Denali Getaway package for four.
