The Alaska International Senior Games (AISG) showcases athletes ages 50+ who compete in 19 sports, from Olympic events like swimming, tennis and track & field to bowling, mini golf and indoor shooting. The Games, held Aug. 2-11, serve as a qualifier for the Nationals in 2025.
Keep an eye out for Joyce Jones, who’s participated nearly every year since its 2003 inception. And if you’re athletically inclined, some table tennis and pickleball teams are still looking for partners!
The opening ceremony (free for athletes and $10 for guests) kicks off at The Pioneer Park Civic Center and includes games and door prizes.
