Don’t hibernate, donate: Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

While people prepare for the holidays by shopping for gifts and baking feasts, animals prepare by stocking up on food. If feeding a big family on Thanksgiving sounds pricey, consider the cost of feeding over 100 animals daily.

The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, an orphaned and injured animal sanctuary, does just that. This year, its three resident brown bears alone devoured 15,000+ pounds of food, and AWCC welcomed numerous baby animals, including:

• Seven elk.
• Six bison.
• Two musk ox.
• One reindeer, moose, deer and porcupine.
