low income households

Nearly 4,000 children who are in foster care, live in a low-income household or are dealing with homelessness are eligible for support from 17 programs across Alaska. One of the lifelines for families with young kids is CCS Early Learning.

During COVID-19 school closures, CCS Early Learning is maintaining supportive relationships and providing necessary tools for kids and families. Advocates reach out by phone, video call and email to make weekly contact with children and families. Learning materials and activities, food, diapers and other items are provided to help families adapt.
