Classroom pets belong in schools, not the wild

by The 100 Companies

As teachers and students head back to school, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game has a lesson for classrooms with pets: be a responsible pet owner and “Don’t Let it Loose!”

Releasing a pet into the wild can be incredibly harmful to local ecosystems and biodiversity, and is detrimental to native fish and wildlife. Plus, it’s illegal to “free” unwanted animals into the wild. Do your part to rehome your unwanted pets.

You can always contact your local pet store or humane society if you’re unsure what to do with unwanted pets. You can report invasive species to 1-877-INVASIV.
