Enjoy an Anchorage winter wonderland

Anchorage winter

Snow has finally arrived, bringing a plethora of opportunities for outdoor exploration in Alaska’s largest city. Walk, ski or bike Anchorage’s 200 miles of trails, a great way to connect with the city’s commitment to the outdoors.

The Alaska Botanical Garden flowers may be asleep, but the 110-acre property is open for quiet walks, skiing or snowshoeing within a beautiful boreal forest.

Stop by Thunder Bird Falls (the official Alaska State Parks name) off the Glenn Highway and view a tower of ice after a short one-mile hike; this state park trail is scenic and perfect for families.
