Many kids in Alaska rely on school lunches, and several community organizations are working to keep them fed during this time of COVID-19 closures.
Many school districts, including in Fairbanks, the Matanuska-Susitna Valley and Anchorage, are continuing to offer a choice of breakfast or lunch at pickup locations. The meals include an entree, milk and a fruit or vegetable.
The Children’s Lunchbox is handing out pantry packs for families of four. You can find distribution times and locations on its Facebook page.
The Food Bank of Alaska is continuing its mobile food pantry and has compiled a list of resources.
