Nome Arts Council marks 45 years, hosts famous open mic night

by

Founded in 1973, the Nome Arts Council has become known over the past 45 years for its contributions to the local art community as well as its open mic events.

Held each March – when the town is home to the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race finish line – as well as in November, the next open mic night will be at Nome’s Mini Convention Center on Saturday, Nov. 17.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and festivities begin at 7 p.m. Admission is $5, but performers get in free. Learn more on the Nome Arts Council’s Facebook page.
