Alaska’s iconic mushing event begins this weekend, and we’ve rounded up our favorite events!
• Iditarod Ceremonial Start, Saturday, March 3: Don’t miss the Last Great Race kick-off in downtown Anchorage! Bring your family, and afterward head down to 3rd Avenue for Fur Rondy fun.
• Iditarod Official Restart, Sunday, March 4: Watch the official start of the race on Willow Lake. Cheer on mushers before they begin the 1,000-mile journey to Nome.
• Awards Banquet, Sunday, March 18: After the finishers cross the burled arch in Nome, everyone gathers to congratulate the mushers.
