It’s National Purple Heart Day, a reminder to honor fallen soldiers and thank veterans for their service. Military holidays are important, but we should support military members year-round.
Help make a huge impact on Alaska families protecting our American way of life:
• Invite a service member to a holiday celebration – holidays can be lonely for single service members or spouses when theirs are away.
• Bring meals to a service member’s family.
• Visit older or wounded veterans in nursing homes and hospitals.
• Write thank you letters to military members or veterans.
• Hire veterans or military spouses.
• Volunteer with support organizations.
