December is a month full of festivities, and Fairbanks sure knows how to celebrate. One day after the winter solstice, you can enjoy the Festival of Lights, also known as the Chena River fireworks, from Griffin Park in downtown Fairbanks on Dec. 22 from 8-8:30 p.m.
One premium location to view the fireworks is along the Chena River itself. Come out with family and friends to enjoy this beautiful and colorful celebration, and end the year on a bright note. It is also a great opportunity to stroll along the river and soak in the winter scenery.
