Alaska’s freshest lettuce grows in a surprising location

What do fresh lettuce and barbecue have in common? The Turnagain Arm Pit! Thanks to a new hydroponic farm brought from Boston to Alaska by owner Jack Goodsell, the restaurant’s locations in Anchorage and Indian are serving salads and more with some of the freshest lettuce and other veggies in the state.

Over 1,000 plants, using five gallons of water a day, are regularly growing at Indian Valley Farm. Next time you’re craving ribs, consider a salad on the side.

Ask your server about lettuce for purchase at either location, or go to the Midtown Mall for Thankful Thursdays.
