Alaskan history comes to life through Ketchikan Story Project

by

Ketchikan’s uniquely Alaskan history comes to life through six Emmy award-winning films. Highlighting the city and the people who live there, the films capture the spirit and culture of Alaska’s First City.

After interviewing more than 300 local residents, consulting historians and studying local museums’ artifacts and images, the Ketchikan Story Project captures Ketchikan’s transition from a lawless 19th century mining town to welcoming its one millionth cruise traveller in 2017.

The six films focus on different aspects of Ketchikan, including “Our Native Legacy,” “A True Frontier,” “The Bush Pilots,” “The Timber Years,” “A Fish Story” and “The Artists.”
