Anchorage Museum captures the sounds of the north

The Anchorage Museum tapped nine artists to capture the sounds of the north on its new vinyl record “ARC.” The record will be the first from the museum’s new label, Unbound Records.

From Alaska to Norway, Finland to Russia and beyond, “ARC” is filled with expansive pieces that capture the environment, atmosphere and vastness of the north.

On Friday, Feb. 8, the museum will host a listening party in the Thomas Planetarium to celebrate the launch, followed by performances by featured artist Olga Bell and members of Harm and Indian Agent. Limited edition vinyl records will be available for purchase.
