ANSEP students study virtually

According to NWEA, students entering eighth grade lose 50% of their school-year gains in math over the summer. To keep students engaged and prepared for college, the Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program offers summer programs to Alaska middle and high school students.

Due to COVID-19, ANSEP’s summer components went virtual this year, but that didn’t stop the fun. Students participating in Middle School Academy’s Summer of STEM chose from several activities including designing a face mask, an egg drop, a renewable energy project and an extreme roller coaster build. Other virtual programs included Summer Bridge and Acceleration Academy Summer.
