Alaska State Parks makes Kids to Parks Day virtual

To encourage families with children to explore the outdoors together while social distancing, Alaska State Parks’ annual Kids to Parks Day on May 16 has gone virtual.

Teaming up with park ambassador Erin Kirkland, the event will provide families with opportunities to independently visit their local state parks and complete activities together. Kids will be able to download a Kids to Parks Day activity book, take virtual nature hikes with park rangers and participate in a backyard camping adventure.

Kids to Parks Day is an initiative by the National Park Trust, a nonprofit partner of national parks and public lands.
