The 907: Ferry season returns to Alaska

MV Tazlina

“Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.” That saying could just be the Alaska Marine Highway System’s motto. State ferries connect more than 30 communities across 3,500 miles.

One of the routes that highlights the best of Alaska’s Inside Passage is the trip from Juneau to Haines. This ride offers views of lush scenery and crystal-clear water.

We also can’t wait to experience the new trip in the Aleutian chain that departs for the first time from Homer on May 7. There is also a new ferry, the MV Tazlina, that will serve North Lynn Canal communities.
