Portage Glacier Cruises celebrates 30 years on the water

Portage Glacier Cruises is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2019. With five daily trips, the company offers one of the most accessible ways to see the glacier.

Portage Glacier Cruises’ MV Ptarmigan is the only boat operating on Portage Lake. Travelers come within 300 yards of the Portage Glacier and spend 20 minutes idling from side to side, watching and listening, with the option of standing on the ship’s viewing deck or staying inside the fully enclosed, heated cabin.

Captain Marcelle Roemmich loves being out on the lake – rain or shine – because of stunning views and her dedicated, passionate crew.
