Grilling under the midnight sun in Alaska

grilling meat

In Alaska, during the summer, the days are long. Meal prep, however, should be short. This is why many Alaskans choose to grill out.

Grill masters should practice barbecue food safety. That means washing your hands and separating meats, seafood and poultry from fruits and veggies. Also, keep a fire extinguisher nearby (just in case), have water for hydration and load up on sunscreen. Alaska also has many public-use grills for cookouts. Be sure to clean them afterward so the grills don’t attract bears.
