Eligible Alaskans will receive a $992 payment on July 1 as their share of the state’s permanent fund. How they choose to spend that money this year is a big choice.
Many will choose to save it, pay bills or invest, and others may even put those dollars back into the local economy. Here are a few ideas for the latter:
• If you can spend a little extra this year, explore the state and Show Up For Alaska.
• Spend at Black-owned businesses in Alaska.
• Make sure what you are buying is local to Alaska. Look for the AK Loyal stickers.
