Whether pulling a fillet out of the freezer or cooking up the day’s catch, here are two ways to cook salmon while camping:
1. Foil packet: Create a bed of coals then place salmon in foil packet with desired seasonings. Seal pack and place on coals to cook.
2. Grill: Lay grill grate over campfire and season salmon. Prevent sticking by laying the fillet on a bed of lemons or sheet of foil. No need to flip.
Salmon is cooked when it flakes easily. Cooking time varies depending on temperature and fillet size. Check after 10 minutes and continue cooking as needed.
