The 907: Alaska expects record number of visitors in 2018

This summer, visitors from around the world will travel to our state to experience all that Alaska has to offer. Here are some of the economic benefits of their arrival:

• CLIA Alaska is projecting a record-breaking 1,165,474 cruise passengers will come on 518 scheduled sailings.
• During peak season, around 47,000 people are employed by the tourism industry.
• Alaska’s visitor industry has been shown to generate $100 million in state revenue and $83 million in municipal revenue.
