You often hear the phrase “pictures don’t do it justice” when talking about Alaska landmarks such as Denali, but it is also true for some of the state’s indoor attractions.
The Aurora Ice Museum at Chena Hot Springs Resort is the largest year-round ice environment in the world. It’s constructed from nearly 1,000 tons of ice and snow, and the interior features everything from furniture to chandeliers to the Aurora Ice Bar, all carved by Alaska artists Heather and Steve Brice. Just a little over an hour from downtown Fairbanks, a visit here is well worth the trip.
