GCI has donated an additional $100,000 to its Suicide Prevention Grant Program, reinforcing its commitment to supporting organizations working to combat Alaska’s high suicide rate. In response to the program’s success in 2016, GCI is partnering again with the Alaska Community Foundation, which will help manage and distribute the grant funding.

Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 14.

Nine organizations were awarded grants in 2016 for their efforts to prevent suicide, including the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District, which used the grant funding to launch the nationally recognized “Sources of Strength” program, featured above.
