Thumbs up:

• Colony Knights: Palmer High School claims first state football championship in school history. Go, Knights!

• Famous bus: Old Fairbanks bus made famous by “Into the Wild” deemed an “American treasure,” awarded impressive preservation grant.

• AFN: After two-year, pandemic-related hiatus, the Alaska Federation of Natives’ annual convention comes roaring back in person.

Thumbs down:

• Debt: The plan to cancel/redistribute college loan debt halted by federal judge.

• Fentanyl: If the governor ends up having his way, penalties surrounding the fatal drug will become much more serious.

• Unemployment: Key economic driver trends down in Alaska, most sectors see year-over-year job increases.
