Historic bakery offers unparalleled lodging and dining in Juneau

by The 100 Companies

Gus Messerschmidt immigrated from Germany and trained as a baker in California before founding the San Francisco Bakery in Juneau in 1902. It is the longest continuously operating bakery in the state.

The historic Historic Messerschmidt building is now intertwined with four other buildings, creating what is now Silverbow Inn Hotel & Suites. Today, guests enjoy amenities including comfortable rooms, complimentary breakfast and 24-hour coffee and snacks, daily cookie and cocoa happy hour, and the only rooftop hot tub in Juneau.

The onsite restaurant offers an exciting opportunity to enjoy a meal by a Top 50 Restaurants in The Country Award recipient.
