2019 is expected to bring lots of exciting developments for Alaska’s tourism industry. With new tours, strong cruising numbers and anniversaries – most notably Alaska marking 60 years of statehood – here are some of the highlights:
• CLIA Alaska projects more than 1.3 million passengers will visit the state via a cruise.
• Circumpolar Expeditions is organizing its first commercial umiak boat expedition between Alaska and Russia.
• The Alaska Native community of Afognak is offering a new driving tour that tells the history of Kodiak.
