Alaskans know that as snow melts and the season changes, spring cleaning outside is just as important as at home. Cleanup days across the state have been announced, so get outside and volunteer to better the community:
• Anchorage’s Citywide Cleanup festivities kicked off on Saturday, May 1, and continue through Saturday, May 29. Register with a team, or by yourself, and pick a date on the schedule to clean up the city.
• In Fairbanks, Clean-Up Day 2021 will be held on Saturday, May 15. Registration opened on Monday, May 3.
• Kodiak will also be hosting its own community cleanup day on Saturday, May 8.
