2 nature events you won’t want to miss

Visitors and locals will enjoy these two exciting events:

• Sitka WhaleFest (Nov. 1-3) – Led by world-renowned scientists, WhaleFest raises awareness and appreciation for marine life through education. Noteworthy activities include snorkeling, art classes, cruises and marine mammal necropsy. All events aim to help us better understand both sea and animals.

• Alaska Bald Eagle Festival (Nov. 8-10) – Haines welcomes guests to enjoy speakers, presentations, photography workshops, art shows and special exhibits dedicated to a national symbol. A highlight of the event is a naturalist-led expedition bus to the Chilkat to view one of the largest concentrations of eagles in the world.
