This summer, 25 of Alaska’s brightest students are participating in Alaska Native Science & Engineering Program’s Summer Bridge opportunity. For 10 weeks, students take part in paid internships in engineering, science or business. These internships take students into the field across Alaska, from studying brown bears in Kodiak to surveying mammals in Denali to observing salmon in the Yukon River.
Summer Bridge provides hands-on experience in STEM fields the summer between high school and college. Through ANSEP’s Acceleration Academy, many participating students have earned dozens of credits toward a degree, and those who complete Summer Bridge are eligible for scholarship funding.
