Thumbs down:

• Avalanche: Massive avalanche narrowly misses homes in Eagle River, strands homeowners. Glad all are safe.

• Grounded tugboat: Cleanup of spilled diesel continues for grounded tugboat near Sitka.

• Russia: Alaska’s neighbor to the west says they want Alaska back. We’re cool, thanks.
