On May 19-26, Gov. Walker and a delegation of 26 Alaska companies attended Opportunity Alaska: China Trade Mission in Shanghai to optimize international trade partnerships. With over $1.32 billion in exports, China is Alaska’s largest trade partner.
The delegation, which included a baby food maker, architecture firm and university representatives as well as fisheries, tourism and investment companies, showcased Alaska’s strong domestic and international economy to increase collaboration.
Highlights included discussion of a partnership between the Chinese Nordic Team and APU, growing travel opportunities with a focus on outdoor tourism and a $45 billion Alaska LNG pipeline project.
