Thumbs up:

• Awesome teachers: Sitka teacher at Mt. Edgecumbe wins prestigious national science teaching award. Congrats.

• Indigenous stamp: Tlingit artist creates Northwest Coast design for USPS stamp. Letters and bills in 2021 will be all the more beautiful!

• COVID-19 vaccine: It’s getting closer to reality, should arrive in Alaska soon. Please hurry.

Thumbs down:

• Non-hibernating bears: Bears continue to roam Alaska well past their bedtime. Seriously, go to sleep.

• Rondy events: Fan favorite events like Running of the Reindeer are cancelled for 2021. Thanks a lot, COVID.

• Arctic sunshine: The sun won’t rise again in the far north for 60 days.
