Honoring Alaska’s notable philanthropists

by The 100 Companies

Bill Corbus, former owner of Alaska Electric Light and Power Company, donated $48 million to the Juneau Community Foundation to support arts, conservation and culture in Juneau.

James Bowers felt compelled to help students in Ukraine when he saw 38 colleges destroyed in one city – contribute to his fund helping resettle Ukrainians in Alaska.

And Grace Berg Schaible was committed to the University of Alaska Fairbanks, allocating more than $4.5 million – half from her estate. She was named one of the Philanthropists of the Century at UAF.

Keep the giving going by donating to one of these 614 Alaskan nonprofits.
