‘Roots and Stems’ podcast to help with Native language revitalization

“Roots and Stems” is a new Alaska podcast, brought to listeners by Sealaska Heritage Institute. The podcast centers around the revitalization of Native languages and what that may look like for different people in the indigenous community.

The podcast is meant to be used as a tool for those who want to learn more about language. The first episode features Dr. X’unei Lance Twitchell, who shares his story and his relationship with learning his own Native language.

“Roots and Stems” is an ongoing project for Sealaska Heritage Institute and features insight from various educators and language experts on each episode.
