For the first time, fishermen nationwide are celebrating World Fishing Day July 23-24 to promote a love for fishing and important issues regarding fisheries. A live show will broadcast from the Kasilof River to document the event and film anglers as they reel in the big one.
Along with the World Fishing Day festivities, Jim Voss recently launched an app, Alaska FishTopia, to serve as a central location for fishing needs. It features local events, guides and exchanges to keep anglers up-to-date on fishing regulations that have been enacted to improve fish populations along the Kenai Peninsula.
