Fall festivals around Alaska

This October and November, be sure to check out these fun happenings in the Last Frontier:

• In Fairbanks, Music in the Woods will take place on Oct. 27 at Pikes Landing. Musical performances range from jazz to steel drum music.

• Sitka goes to the whales Nov. 1-4 for Sitka Whalefest. The Sitka Sound Science Center puts on the annual festival that celebrates marine life.

• Bald eagles and avid birders flock to Haines from Nov. 7-10 for the Alaska Bald Eagle Festival. Attendees can listen to speakers, watch presentations and look for eagles in the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve.
