Fairbanks has been home to the World Ice Art Championship since 1989. This year’s event will take place at Tanana Valley State Fairgrounds from Feb. 14-March 31. The new location offers electrical outlets and shaded areas to protect sculptures from sunlight. Over 100 competitive artists come from around the globe to compete.
Many people are happy just to witness the ice art, but there’s also an opportunity to join in the competition. Select from the one-person, two-person or multi-block classic events. Kids can even join a youth open competition. Here is more information on admission pricing.
