A friend recently posted a montage of excerpts from a Jim Carrey commencement speech in 2014, and I’ve been completely mesmerized. The topic was love vs. fear, and it’s made me think about how I make decisions. What’s my filter? Am I taking the easier path out of fear?
As Carrey pointed out, “life doesn’t happen to you, it happens for you.” When we choose to live life based on fear, we end up doing things we didn’t want to do. And we can still fail. So, why not take chances on what you love, no matter how impossible it seems?
