Dec. 1 is a day to come together each year to honor those affected by HIV/AIDS and commit to eradicating the disease. The Interior AIDS Association did just that with a concert last Friday, Dec. 1 to raise awareness, offer support and show solidarity as a community.
The event blended both education and commemoration: Participants had the opportunity to talk with community organizations including Planned Parenthood, Public Health and PFLAG and enjoyed live performances along with food and drinks.
Local musicians included Inna Rivkin, who sings “visually creative folk originals” with “echoes of wilderness” and Jean McDermott’s tartan tundra music.
