Meditation for children on the rise

meditation for children

Adults are often drawn toward meditation to ease daily stress and experience moments of peace. Children growing up in today’s fast-paced culture also show increased levels of restlessness, stress and anxiety, and meditation can be just as beneficial to them.

Studies show that children who practice meditation show increased self-control, better attention in the classroom, more empathy and respect for others and better management of stress, depression, ADHD and hyperactivity.

While meditation is being taught to children at home, it’s also becoming more common in schools as part of a daily routine and as an alternative to detention.
