Ketchikan Salmon Walk opens to the public later this month

by The 100 Companies

Next time you are in Ketchikan, put on your walking shoes. Sponsored by Royal Caribbean Group, the Ketchikan Salmon Walk provides a historical and cultural activity for both visitors and residents.

Twenty-one trail markers featuring local art and interpretive panels guide the way. The full trail provides information on the importance of salmon to Indigenous culture, the role of salmon in a healthy ecosystem and how Ketchikan Creek has shaped the town’s history.

Begin your journey from the Tongass Historical Museum, follow Ketchikan Creek to the Totem Heritage Center and loop back along Creek Street to end your 1.5-mile trek.
