Journey of the Freckled Indian

“Journey of the Freckled Indian: a Tlingit Culture Story” is scheduled to be released this fall. According to the book’s website, the purpose of the story is to help children be proud of who they are and have confidence in their identity.

The book follows a mixed-race Tlingit girl who is learning about her culture and how to embrace it in today’s world, helping parents start a conversation with their kids about identity.

The book is written by Alyssa London and illustrated by Monica Rickert-Bolter, with the Northwest Coast formline designs by Preston Singletary. It is now available for pre-order.
