June holds two important celebrations elevating conversations surrounding race, equity and inclusion. Here’s why we celebrate Pride Month and Juneteenth annually.
Pride Month celebrates how far the LGBTQIA community has come since the 1969 Stonewall riots when police raided a gay club in NYC. It ultimately served as a catalyst for the gay rights movement.
Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the U.S. June 19 serves as a day of remembrance and opportunity to honor and celebrate Black history and culture.
