Royal Caribbean is continuing to support Alaska’s port cities, despite not being able to cruise there this year.

The company recently donated $40,000 to Women in Safe Homes (WISH), a domestic violence shelter based in Ketchikan.

Officials with the shelter say this unexpected donation will help them move to a new, gender-neutral shelter for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Meeting its fundraising goal has also made the shelter eligible for a grant matching program, allowing WISH to serve more people in more communities.

The shelter shared its appreciation for the cruise line with a touching video on Facebook.
