COVID-19 vaccines have created newfound hopefulness. But for members of marginalized communities, there’s a rightful skepticism.
Dr. Jocasta G. Olp shared why that perception should change.
“The collective [Black community] has been searching for a solution to this pain and suffering. This vaccine is part of the solution. It has been studied rigorously and researchers ensured that participants from all races have participated in these studies. I would encourage all to get the vaccine.”
Dr. Olp added that comprehensive, inclusive scientific studies and prioritized federal funding has aided in the vaccine’s testing and approval.
