It turns out Santa likes skiing as much as most Alaskans, and he will spend the last few hours before his journey around the world on the ski hill in Juneau. Eaglecrest Ski Area will be holding a torchlight parade for Santa on Christmas Eve.
Festivities kick off at 3 p.m. with arts and crafts and story time for the youngsters. An hour later, the torchlight parade will make its way down the Hooter and Porcupine chairlifts before Santa arrives at 4:30 p.m. to deliver presents.
The event is free and also includes snacks and live music.
