Celebration returns with four days of culture, song and dance in Juneau

Southeast Alaska’s biennial Celebration will fill the streets of Juneau from June 8-11, the first time being in person since 2018, and the 40th anniversary of the event.

One of the largest gatherings of Southeast Alaska Native peoples, Sealaska Heritage Institute first held the event in 1982 as a way to bring Alaska’s Indigenous cultures together to preserve their traditions. Celebration unites Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian people of the region to honor their cultural heritage with traditional song and dance, arts and crafts, foods and more.
