UAA opens doors to new pride center

by The 100 Companies

University of Alaska Anchorage recently opened the doors to a brand new pride center. It will serve as a place of belonging for LGBTQIA2S+ members of the UAA community, providing services, programs and a space to study, hang out with friends and forge new connections.

“When students find a sense of belonging and feel safe, they’re more likely to stay and finish school,” said Sara Caldwell-Kan, director of Multicultural Student Services at UAA. “So having this space matters because it will help keep students succeeding. But more than the space, it’s about demonstrating a commitment to queer and trans students.”
